The Assistant Headteacher selected for this role will support our Year 5-6 Phase Leader and Heads of Years 7-9 to ensure that they are able to work effectively across their teams to promote student attendance, behaviour and academic progress.

Transition into Year 7 is a key focus for this role. As an All Through Academy, providing students and parents with a seamless experience into our secondary phase is of paramount importance to us.

Bridgwater College Academy is the only all-through mainstream Academy in Somerset and opened in 2012.  Student numbers are divided equally between Primary and Secondary phases; we also have a nursery provision too. The Academy was the first sponsored Academy within the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, which now hosts seven Academies and is itself set to continue to expand in the future.
