We wish to recruit an Assistant Headteacher to start in January 2019.

Brentwood School is an Outstanding Special School for students with a range of special needs including SLD, PMLD, ASC and complex needs. Some of our students exhibit challenging behaviour. We share our site with Brentwood College, which accommodates high needs students aged 19-22.
As Assistant Headteacher, you will work alongside the Headteacher, Deputy Head and College Lead to build on our current achievements, taking the school on to the next stage of its development.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding teacher who will have had significant impact at a middle manager level with:

  • experience of working with students with SEN
  • excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • the ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the school
  • ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

 

We are particularly interested in candidates who will have leadership expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Quality Assurance
  • Behaviour
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Post 16 Education
  • Post 19 Education

About Brentwood High School and Community College

Brentwood School is a Secondary School and College located in Trafford, Greater Manchester. The school provides places to around 100 pupils aged 11-18 in a co-educational setting, 30 of whom reside in the school sixth form, and all of whom have a Statement of Special Educational Need. The school caters for a wide range of learning difficulties and challenging behaviours, and offers provision for further education for some students aged 19-24 in the College. At Brentwood we acknowledge that every student has different strengths and weaknesses, interests and experiences and therefore the curriculum is adapted and differentiated to meet individual needs and circumstances. The curriculum is designed to be broad, balanced and relevant and includes the teaching of functional skills in every subject area.  Our aim is to equip each student with the essential skills that they will need for the future whilst ensuring their well-being.
