We are looking to strengthen our Senior Leadership Team following the promotion of our current post holder with the appointment of an Assistant Principal for Early Years. Whether you are a talented and proven leader or looking to take the next step in your career, we would like to hear from you.

  • has a desire and passion to make a real difference to the lives and life-chances of our children
  • is hardworking, dedicated and not afraid of a challenge
  • is an outstanding teacher with a proven track record of teaching at the highest levels
  • is a highly effective leader who will lead by example developing excellence in others through coaching and mentoring and leading of Early Years 
  • proven track record of leading on a whole school initiative 
  • has clear vision, energy and commitment to all aspects of school life
  • has a clear understanding of the new Early Years Framework and a passion to develop children from birth to 5 years

Hillcrest Academy is part of The Gorse Academies Trust, having joined in January 2014 as the first trust Primary Academy. The Gorse Academies Trust has an increasingly well-known reputation for changing the life chances for children and young adults who come from some of the most impoverished parts of the country. The trust's mission is to ensure that they play a significant role in removing the stubborn link between poverty and academic underperformance. Consequently, students and professionals are in the vanguard of a national drive which seeks to prove that where teaching is excellent, leadership inspiring and behaviour standards exemplary all children excel regardless of background.

Hillcrest Academy is a larger-than-average primary school located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The school provides places for around 400 pupils aged 3-11. Hillcrest Academy is part of the GORSE Academies Trust, which is responsible for the running of around eight schools in the local area, at both primary and secondary level.

Hillcrest takes great pride in its extremely diverse catchment area, with a high proportion of pupils from ethnic minority backgrounds and a similarly high proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language.

Hillcrest Academy seeks to ensure that every pupil receives a high-quality education regardless of background. To this end, the school highly values its investment in extra-curricular activities and an interesting and relatable curriculum. Parents are encouraged to play a large role in their child’s education, in order to foster a sense of community and responsibility.

With such a diverse intake of pupils, tolerance and diversity are of paramount importance to the primary school, and pupils are encouraged to have respect for different faiths and belief systems.
