We are seeking to appoint someone with the potential to become an outstanding Assistant Principal to assist the Principal in the organisation, management and leadership of the school, undertaking the key duties of a senior leader. The successful candidate would be expected to use their initiative and judgement within the school’s aims and values, in line with the Academy Performance Agreement and to demonstrate accountability to the Principal.
Whilst the specific duties and responsibilities will be agreed at the interview the key aspects of the role revolve around taking responsibility for the academic progress and outcomes of vulnerable pupils and those who face barriers to learning and progress, such as those with SEND, those who are economically disadvantaged, young carers, looked after children, those with mental health issues and medical needs, and others that may be identified. The successful candidate will be passionate about the achievement of these groups and will lead the school’s efforts to ensure that they achieve at least in line with their peers and also access the additional opportunities that the school can offer in the same way as their peers.
