Job description

Role based at Openshaw Campus Manchester and other College Campus sites as required on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis.

The Manchester College (TMC) is the largest Further Education College in the United Kingdom and the largest single provider of 16-19, adult, and higher education in Greater Manchester. TMC is also part of the LTE group of companies that consists of MOL, Total People, UCEN Manchester, Novus and LTE group operations. We currently support more than 25% of Greater Manchester’s learning and skills provision and are currently Rated “Good” by Ofsted. The Opportunity

Therefore, we have an opportunity for an experienced FE professional with a strong background in quality management to support our vision for quality excellence and execute our strategic objectives across our organisation. The role of Assistant Principal for Quality will sit within our TMC Quality Team and will be based at our Openshaw Campus in Manchester. This is a permanent position reporting to the Vice Principal for Quality. In this role, you will have the opportunity to improve all aspects of quality and raise standards across The Manchester College. Your work will influence the student experience and your passion will help to deliver what’s right for them.

The Role Responsibilities

As the Assistant Principal for Quality, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Focus on quality improvement strategies across TMC
  • Understand key quality processes in FE to improve and maintain excellent levels of service
  • Work in a leadership role inside the TMC Quality Team
  • Work collaboratively with Assistant Principals and Heads of Departments to ensure that they review their curriculum on an annual basis
  • Work collaboratively with the LTE Group Quality Team to implement the annual quality cycle across The Manchester College, aligned to the LTE Group quality cycle.
  • Review and evaluate quality strategies, objectives, plans, procedures, and practices as applied to The Manchester College
  • Deputise for the Vice Principal: Quality

Essential Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in your application you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Teaching qualification
  • Management qualification at L5 or above and/broad experience as a senior manager
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections in a leading role
