Assistant Principal: SENDCo / SEND Teaching and Learning

The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to join our senior leadership team during an exciting phase of Academy expansion and development.   

With responsibility for a specific year group; this role will strategically lead the provision for SEND students with a focus on effective teaching and learning strategies for that cohort of students.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking an outstanding teacher to make a distinctive contribution to the leadership of the Academy, who is aligned with our mission to improve the life chances of our students in the local community to which we serve.  Suitable candidates will be committed, hardworking and caring practitioners with a proven track record in the classroom and within their current middle or senior leadership role.  The successful candidate will be able evidence leadership ability which has led to measurable impact in the development of successful teaching and learning strategies for SEND students.  Due to the focus of the role, we are seeking candidates who either already possess the SENCO award, or are willing to study towards.

The School

Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and to accommodate a growing student population we have recently completed a further £10 million expansion project.
