Itchen Sixth Form College is looking to appoint a new Assistant Principal from September 2021. This is an exciting leadership opportunity to work with our Principal and newly formed Senior Team to move the College forward through achievement of our strategic aims, and specifically to work with school partners to enhance the reputation of the College and further develop liaison activity.  

The College is seeking to appoint an Assistant Principal that is committed to the highest of standards, raising aspirations and the inclusive mission of Itchen with the energy, motivation and enthusiasm to support the College on its journey to ‘Outstanding’. The post holder will have oversight of a range of activities that relate to transition and recruitment of students. 

With its long history as a sixth form college, the special character of Itchen is based on an enduring set of values centred on inclusion and high aspirations. As a community, the College encourages lifelong friendships, creativity and sporting excellence. Change and progress has made the College what it is today. Our mission is to be an inclusive and supportive college offering excellence in learning in which all students flourish.  

This post will be of interest to senior and middle leaders from the secondary and post 16 sector who are committed to ensuring all students achieve to the best of their abilities, widening participation and assisting social mobility.

Itchen College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college in Hampshire, serving students from the age of 16-19. The college, situated in Southampton has approximately 1,558 learners on record.

Itchen College was founded in 1906 as a co-educational secondary school and later Itchen Grammar School. It welcomes learners from across the world, with 10% making up international students. Facilities on the campus include a sports centre, performing arts block – features Apple Mac suites, recording studios and soundproof music rooms, and a Student Centre for students to relax in during their study breaks.
