Job overview
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and well-organised individual who is interested in joining our Safeguarding team supporting our Designated Safeguarding Lead and our Safeguarding Managers.
Working under guidance, you will provide safeguarding support to address the physical and mental health and well-being needs of our students in order to overcome barriers to learning and become emotionally resilient.
You will be a good communicator, committed to the welfare of our students and have the ability to liaise effectively with students, school staff and outside agencies.
Previous experience of working with vulnerable students and their families would be an advantage.
The role also includes weekly admin duties so a sound understanding of Microsoft Office would be beneficial.
This role may involve some out of hour’s appointments therefore, some flexibility to core hours will be necessary. The successful candidate may need to attend some off-site meetings or home visits and therefore car ownership would be an advantage but not a necessity.
Staff benefits include enrolment onto the enhanced package for Smart Clinic which provides occupational health and well-being support for all employees.
If you would like to join our school, where every person matters, please submit your application by the closing date below.

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 and safer recruitment practices, the school will conduct an online search for all shortlisted candidates. The online search is part of our safeguarding checks and will seek publicly available information on candidates’ suitability to work with children.
References will be obtained before interview at shortlisting stage and may be used in the interview process. If previous employment has included working with children, then at least one referee must be from this employment regardless of whether this is the current or most recent employment. Values and vision
At Meadowhead our vision is to make a difference to the lives of our young people. Through excellence and continual improvement, we aim to be the best we can possibly be for our current and future students. We are determined that all our students achieve their full potential and leave us as confident, compassionate and articulate individuals to grow and prosper in the 21st century.
We work in partnership with others to equip students with the skills, attitudes and qualifications needed to lead fulfilling lives and to become responsible adults. Through a skilfully planned curriculum, enrichment experiences, high standards in teaching and pastoral care we fully prepare our students for entrance to further and higher education, high quality employment and the future careers of their choice.
Our ambition is to develop and nurture young people to become well rounded individuals with the characteristics to contribute fully to society with a strong sense of civic responsibility. We want to ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge, understanding and skills to influence change and to improve their own lives, their local community and the planet. We aim to inspire young people to live sustainable lives and develop the green skills to tackle both the causes and the impact of climate change resulting in better futures for all.
The House System
When students start at Meadowhead, they and the rest of their form group are allocated a house: Sharman, Pearson, Douglass and Brearley. Each of the houses are named after inspirational figures who have made a difference in their chosen field or discipline. Students compete as houses in events like Sports Day and for the annual Rewards Cup. The names of each figurehead was chosen during the 2021-22 academic year during a public consultation with students, staff, local residents and alumni. As students transition into the Sixth Form, students keep their house as they move to their new specialist form.
Continuing Professional Development
We have a strong programme of CPD for all staff.
Staff benefits now include enrolment onto the enhanced package for Smartclinic which provides occupational health and well-being support for all employees.
