Assistant School Caretaker – Term Time Only 32.5 hours p.w.

H1:2 £18,198 + £626 Fringe Allowance pro-rata – Actual Salary £13,741

Required ASAP

We seek applications from those of the Catholic faith, all faiths and of no faith but who are supportive of our Christian values and ethos.

We seek to appoint an additional assistant caretaker to the Estates team to provide a clean, healthy and safe environment for users of the school buildings and grounds. This is a part-time position for 32.5 hours per week paid on the H1:2 scale inclusive of London Fringe Allowance. Working hours will be from 8:30 a.m. – 15:30 p.m. week days with a half hour unpaid lunch break each day.  Some additional hours in the evening and weekends for lettings may be required.

Working at St. Mary’s is an extraordinary opportunity.  Our Surveys this year showed that 96% of staff enjoy their work at St Marys, 97% agree that leaders do all they can to ensure a motivated and respected staff, 100% of students enjoy their learning and believe that behaviour around the school is good, and 97% of parents would recommend St. Mary’s to other parents.  We are passionately committed to developing staff and managing workload to ensure that colleagues enjoy their work and recognise St. Mary’s as an almost-uniquely positive place to teach and enjoy their careers.

Added to this, the school is also at an extremely exciting juncture in its future being part of the newly formed St Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy Trust.  Demand is high, and owing to intense oversubscription, we are 3 years through expansion to 6FE.  We have also won over £5.3m in capital bids in the last 3 years and are enjoying brand new cutting edge facilities as a result.  The school faces an extremely strong and positive financial future.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  A DBS disclosure is required for all successful applicants.  St Mary’s is committed to the equality of opportunity for all applicants, and we reserve the right to interview on a rolling basis, therefore an early application is advisable.

Closing date: Monday 20th September 10.00 a.m.

Apply in writing using the forms available on our website Support Staff Application Form, Consent to Obtain References Form, Rehabilitation of Offenders Form & Recruitment Monitoring Form.  Applicants are reminded that they should read the Notes to Applicants before completing an application. Please note only applications on St Mary’s forms will be accepted. Please contact Tom Johnston, Head of School or to submit an application or for more information.
