Job overview

Reporting to the Bursar, the successful applicant will also have regular contact with the School’s Headmaster and other senior staff. Equally importantly, the post-holder will also work with a wide range of staff across the School, parents and external advisers, suppliers, and consultants.

As Assistant to the Bursar, you will be responsible for supporting the Bursar with day-to-day administrative support and financial management. The post-holder will be expected to meet high standards. Success in this role requires a focus on attention to detail, organisation, confidence, and discretion. You will need to show initiative, have a positive attitude, and embrace technology.

Person Specification:

• Relevant qualifications/experience (accounting qualification desirable not essential)

• Excellent organisation skills and acute attention to detail

• Confident user of the MS Office suite – intermediate Excel user

• Previous experience of Access Financials an advantage

• Robust “can do” approach to IT systems

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times

• Proactive approach to learning new skills and willingness to get involved

• Ability to manage change, work under pressure, and remain outwardly calm

• A friendly and good-humoured approach to enjoying your work and developing professional relationships.
