Assistant Trust Accountant

Our exceptional team has led Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT) to be the highly successful trust it is today; 10 years since it was formed.

We are now seeking an outstanding candidate to help us build on this foundation and be CMAT’s Assistant Trust Accountant covering multiple sites within the CMAT family.

This is a fantastic post driven by our determination to maintain our absolute commitment to quality as we continue to grow. By the start of the new academic year, CMAT will be a family of 23 academies (primary, secondary and SEN) providing a first-class education for more than 14,000 young people. The trust operates in a tight geographical area: 20 miles around Cambridge, Peterborough and the main routes between.

The Core Trust has a central finance team which is supported by finance teams within our schools. Our Assistant Trust Accountant will join this team and ensure that our trust financial handbook is implemented across their group of schools ensuring compliance and accuracy of the team. They will provide direction and leadership for the Finance Officers across their groups of schools and support the Trust Financial Accountant, and the Director of Finance, in providing a high quality service.

The postholder will play an active role in the processes ensuring academy leaders and other key business leaders have the financial information necessary to guarantee best value in meeting the objectives of the trust. The successful candidate can be assured of no two days being the same and that they will have the chance to engage in a vast array of activities.

The Assistant Trust Accountant will display leadership skills, accuracy and integrity at all times. They will conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the trust’s values, sharing best practice and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
