Job overview

Our motivation is that every child can achieve their targets with the right support.  If you are dedicated to raising standards and want to make a difference we would love to hear from you.

We are looking to appoint a new Associate Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion and SEND) to work alongside the Senior Leadership to drive further improvement in our school. With an exceptional record of accomplishment of strategic leadership and a passion for outstanding and inclusive pastoral education, the successful applicant will have responsibility for strategically leading and developing inclusion care at Kingsbury School, with the support of the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will strategically lead the inclusion team.

“Student learning is at the heart of everything we do at Kingsbury: our vision is to raise the achievement and self-esteem of our learners, through fostering their curiosity in a supportive, co-operative environment.”

We are a school that believes in the importance of relationships and, coupled with great teaching, we invest in a restorative discipline approach to build the best climate for learning in the school.

You will be a strong communicator, with natural empathy, who works positively with other professionals and derives satisfaction from supporting children and young people.

You will be working with a dedicated team of school leaders who have identified and embody the following leadership behaviours:

• Visibility.

• Leading by example.

• Communicating effectively and thoroughly, checking on understanding.

• Committing to professional learning, including modelling great teaching practice.

• Aware of your own and others’ strengths and weaknesses, celebrating others’ successes, building others’ capacity and offering support and guidance.

• Maintaining a focus on what benefits our students.

• Brave, upholding standards consistently and doing what’s difficult when it’s required.

We value partnership working and the opportunities of working alongside the other schools in our Trust.  As Deputy Headteacher, you will have an integral role in supporting the headteacher, our Governors and our Trust.

We pride ourselves on:

• Our recent OFSTED inspection upgrade to ‘good’ (April 2019).  Key findings include:

“Staff morale is high and relationships at all levels are very good”.

“The behaviour of pupils is good”.

“The curriculum is appropriate and interesting and pupils receive high quality support and guidance”.

• Being an oversubscribed and popular school, located close to the M42 and M6, in easy reach of Birmingham, Staffordshire, South Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

• Being a highly innovative, driven, inspirational and ambitious organisation with a clear vision for achieving success.

• Being part of the Castle Phoenix Trust. This facilitates an opportunity to play to your strengths and provide excellent collaboration between colleagues and leaders, access to effective CPD and the chance to develop professionally.  The Trust is committed to invest in and develop all staff and, most importantly, bring about the best possible outcomes for our students who deserve the very best.  Our Trust values are really important to all of us and include Respect to All, From All, Innovation and Collaboration.

• Our strong commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition.  We can offer you a range of benefits which include a cycle to work scheme, free parking, and employee discount scheme, a laptop and IPad and access to the on-site swimming pool.
