ASSOCIATE HEAD

Salary: (Inner London pay scale) L34 – L39

Fixed-term Contract: Commencing 23 April 2019 until 31 March 2021

We are looking to appoint an Associate Head to work with, and as appropriate, deputise for the Executive Trust Head in all functions of school leadership.

The role is intended to increase capacity in the leadership team for long term development, which, subject to the Executive Trust Head, the successful candidate will be expected to lead in all areas.

In particular, the successful candidate will be expected to embrace the school’s robust academic and pastoral ethos with a view to taking its impact on student outcomes to higher levels, so that what Drayton Manor offers the education system will become ever more distinctive. There is also potential for the successful candidate to be involved in a restructuring of the Senior Leadership Team over the next couple of years.

They will be expected to prepare, and where appropriate oversee, the implementation of improvements intended to anchor our ethos and standards ever more deeply into the life of the school, building on what has already proved successful and drawing on the experience of other schools.

Drayton Manor is a heavily oversubscribed and successful school. Student achievement is high with a value added score at A Level placing us in the top 12% of schools nationally and 50% of GCSE students achieving the English Baccalaureate. We are very proud of our ethos.

Drayton Manor offers a wide range of opportunities, academic, practical, cultural and sporting to all students. The school thinks and works in terms of individual students, their personal development, their academic tuition, their interests and their career needs.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Further information can be found at www.homeoffice.gov.uk.
