We are recruiting for an Associate Teacher  to join our friendly and supportive cover team. You will provide cover for classes in the event of absence of teaching staff in all areas of the curriculum, following lesson plans provided and maintaining order and focused activity. You must have GCSE Maths & English Grade C/Level 4, preferably with a Level 3 or above qualification. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to motivate our learners. You will be able to adapt quickly to changing situations and ‘think on your feet’.

The working hours are 8.15am to 3pm Monday to Friday, 39 weeks (term time plus 5 non-student days). This role presents an exciting opportunity for applicants who have a degree (or are studying for a degree), as you will gain experience to potentially develop a career within teaching. A number of our support staff have progressed to our School Direct Teacher Training programme.

We passionately believe that every child can discover their own remarkable life. It’s what motivates us around here. We know this vision requires something extra. Which is why at AET, you’ll find more. More opportunities, so you can forge your own path. More care and support, so you can prioritise what matters most. • More support for you and your loved ones - A health cash plan, employee loans and savings scheme, discounted gym membership and employee assistance programme.
  • More technology so you can make more impact - G Suite for Education embedded throughout. Collaborative cloud technology gives you access to the latest tools, when and where it suits you. More tech enabled classrooms mean less time spent on admin and more time teaching.

About New Rickstones Academy

Message from Simon Gibbs, Principal

New Rickstones Academy is a secondary school based in Witham.  This is an exciting time to join New Rickstones Academy as we continue to expand. Over the last 8 years, student numbers have more than doubled, leading to oversubscription and the addition of a new building in September 2022 to accommodate the growing demand.

We maintained our 'Good' OFSTED rating in 2023.  Whilst learning is our core aim, mutual respect and fantastic working relationships between students and staff is what makes New Rickstones Academy what it is, and makes me proud to be Principal.

New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with modern facilities and a friendly and supportive staff team. The academy is proud to boast high staff retention and development.  We have an extensive and hugely successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme to further develop our excellent staff.

If you are considering a role at New Rickstones Academy, please arrange a visit and come and see the academy for yourself.
