Biddick Academy is a good school (Ofsted, 2021) conveniently situated 10 minutes’ drive from Newcastle and Durham. The Academy enjoys an excellent reputation within the local community and is consistently oversubscribed year-on-year. We are seeking to appoint a colleague who shares our passion for learning and our determination to change lives through the education we provide.

Teaching and learning at Biddick Academy is supported by a committed and dedicated Pastoral and Student Support Team who make a significant contribution to maintaining a positive environment for learning.

We seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Attendance Manager who will work directly with all stakeholders encouraging, challenging and supporting improvements in attendance at an individual, cohort and whole school level.

We require an inspirational individual who has a clear understanding of barriers to attendance and the interpersonal skills to put solutions in place.

This is a tremendous opportunity for the right candidate to have a real and measurable impact. If attendance is outstanding, then students have improved life chances and will make more rapid progress academically and socially.

The successful candidate will be analytical, a skilled communicator, adept at creating and managing data/systems and have excellent organisational skills.

Biddick Academy is a co-educational secondary school based in Washington, near Sunderland, for students aged 11-16. 

In 1997, Biddick was one of the first 11 schools in England to become a specialist sports college. The academy’s facilities include a sports hall, a dance studio, a fitness suite, a gymnasium, a full-size 3G pitch, floodlit tennis courts, a theatre and ICT suites.
