The Chiltern Hills Academy invites applications for an exciting opportunity to join the staff of a successful, mixed 11-18 Church of England Academy in the Chiltern Hills, conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line. 

We are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer who is required to join our Student Services Team to monitor and act upon unexplained and unauthorised absences. They will work alongside key staff in school to promote whole school attendance strategies, improve punctuality rates, reduce levels of absence and work with students and families to promote high levels of attendance. The ability to analyse data and be an effective communicator is essential.

We have recently completed a capital build with an investment of £10 million which provides an excellent, well-resourced teaching environment. “Leaders know their school well” our OFSTED inspection recognised (February 2017) and further judged the school to be ‘good’ in all categories. “Leaders have taken effective action to improve the attendance of disadvantaged pupils and those who have special education needs and/or disabilities. Pupils from these two vulnerable groups now attend more regularly”.

About Chiltern Hills Academy

Chiltern Hills Academy is a Church of England, co-educational secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. There are circa 1025 students on the school roll, approximately 100 of whom study in the Sixth Form. Chiltern Hills Academy converted to academy status in 2011 and is jointly sponsored by the Diocese of Oxford and Buckinghamshire Council.

We are situated in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in the Chiltern Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated close to the M40 and the M25, Chesham is on the end of Metropolitan line of the London Underground and is 28 miles north-west of London. There is ample parking on-site. Renting here is cheaper than in central London and if you enjoy travelling, it takes about 40 minutes by car to Heathrow.

The Elgiva Theatre, Lowndes Park and an open-air heated swimming pool are just some of the many public amenities available in the town. Chesham is renowned for its community spirit and there are many recreational and community groups catering for the diverse and active population.
