Twyford Church of England High School, Acton, London W3 9PP is seeking to appoint an

AV Technician

Grade 5. Starting salary is £24,603

35 hours per week

We are looking to appoint an AV Technician to provide operational and technical support to performances and school events.  Responsibilities include advising performance organisers, setting up and operating AV equipment for performances and other Drama and Music events and workshops, and supporting the Head of Technical Services in relation to assemblies and supervision of the student technical crews.  The salary may be negotiable for a suitably qualified applicant. 

You will be part of the Technical Services Team, lead by the Head of Technical Services, which delivers an IT and AV service to the four schools of the Twyford Church of England Trust - Twyford CE High School (Acton), William Perkin CE High School (Greenford), Ada Lovelace CE High School (Greenford) and Ealing Fields High School (Ealing).  The new post-holder will also oversee the provision and maintenance of classroom AV equipment, and other media services activities.  

 

The role is primarily based at Twyford CE High School in Acton in the first instance, and may involve providing practical support for events at other schools as required.  

The working week is 35 hours.  Core hours of work are 8am - 4pm with a one-hour break, plus paid overtime for evening events, lettings and weekend working as required.  

The successful candidates will be: 

Proactive, approachable, calm and professional.  S/he will ideally have specialist AV training or qualification, and will be able to demonstrate knowledge of AV and lighting systems, and experience of working in a customer services environment.  Previous experience of work in a school is desirable but not essential.

Twyford CE High School, Acton

Twyford CE High School was set up by the LDBS in 1981.  The school has an excellent reputation and is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (May 2012) and SIAMS (April 2017).  It has developed specialisms in Music and Modern Foreign Languages, as well as a large and highly successful Sixth Form in which Maths, Maths and Computing are the largest areas.  Since its inception the school has grown considerably and now admits around 975 students aged 11 to 16, and an additional 500 students to the Sixth Form.
