The School of Fashion, Art & Design offers a wide range of programmes from Level 1 to Level 3 to include the specialist areas of fashion, art & design, fashion business and retail, costume, digital graphics and photography. In addition the School offers Higher Education programme pathways in the specialism of Fashion or Photography and a BA Hons Programme in Photography. There are also a number of short income generation programmes offered on a termly basis. The School has good and established links with employers and the awarding body with a high level of progression opportunities to higher education and employment.


The School aspires to achieving excellence in teaching and learning through innovative and excellent practice within an exciting and developing specialist subject area. All staff are expected to create effective and stimulating learning opportunities for all students through high quality teaching, learning and assessment. The School requires that staff must be able to teach a range of specialist skills including the use of traditional and current relevant and current industry practice. The staff team are dedicated and contribute to the overall success of the School of Fashion, Art & Design.


As a bank worker you would be expected to be aware of national developments in the subject area and to plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons in order to achieve effective management of the learning process in addition to the assessment, tracking and recording of student progress.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
