Taunton School is just over 170 years old. It is an Independent School for over 1100 boys and girls, aged from 0 to 18 years with approximately 350 boarders. We aim to challenge, inspire and nurture young people to succeed in a global community.
The Health Centre is situated in the middle of the school site and supports pupils and staff with pastoral and medical needs. It is a hive of activity and the school nurse is part of a large multidisciplinary team. The Health Centre staff consists of two School Doctors and five nurses including the Sister in Charge. Two Counsellors are also located in the Health Centre for 27 hours a week and a Physiotherapist visits 3 times a week. There are 14 beds in the Health Centre for sick pupils and accommodation for the duty nurse if required.
We are seeking a number of bank school nurses to be available to support our Health Centre with staff absences. The duties will include providing medical care to staff, pupils and visitors, providing confidential counselling and keeping detailed and accurate medical records.
