Job overview

Ebor Academy Trust is a multi-academy trust serving children aged 2 to 16. It is our aspiration to develop geographical hubs of schools that share our values.

We are now looking for a Behaviour and Wellbeing Mentor to join us, creating the right ‘climate’ for all pupils to maximise their achievements.

Supporting students who have developed barriers to learning and who require something additional and different to support their emotional health, you will advocate for the most vulnerable of learners and promote whole school wide high expectations and aspirations in relation to pupil conduct and behaviour.

Facilitating the best provision for children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and providing 1-1 personalised and bespoke group interventions when needed, you will support children and families, be a reference point for pupils who are not able to access learning and find ways to de-escalate situations so they are able to return to the classroom setting as swiftly as possible.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and young people with SEND, complex needs, challenging behaviour and vulnerable factors.

A degree in child development or psychology would be a distinct advantage but what we are really looking for is someone with experience working within the safeguarding and family support arena, supporting children on a one to one basis and delivering one to one and small group based interventions in a school context.

Essential is knowledge and experience of very best practice with safeguarding children and promoting good attendance in partnership with parents and agencies.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a very unique and vibrant learning community. The successful applicant will promote learning, well-being and safety of all children, including our vulnerable and more disadvantaged children.

Closing date for applications: Midday, 23rd September 2019

Interviews will take place: 1st October 2019
