Job overview

Stoke Damerel Community College wish to appoint a Behaviour Support Manager who will independently manage the demands of running the Student Recovery Centre. The centre includes the inclusion room and programmes to recover behaviours, including working with families to support boundaries. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, empathetic, adaptable, resilient, well organised and will be able to build and maintain a rapport with students.  The role will include:

• Staffing, managing and co-ordinating the work in the Recovery Centre.

• Supervision and mentoring of students with challenging behaviour, both in class and small group work.

• Liaison with parents, carers, teaching and support staff and other agencies.

While this provision is only required for a very small percentage of students, from minor infringements to those with more challenging behaviours who might otherwise be at risk of exclusion.

We welcome applications from individuals who have significant experience of working with young people either in an educational and/or social care setting. You must be able to establish excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues, and work well within a team.
