Vision for Education is looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker to join our successful supply team and work in a local Secondary Pupil Referral Unit  school in Wakefield. This is a fixed term Behaviour Support Worker role, which will commence as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.

******Experience working with children, young people or adults is essential for this role through Vision for Education. The experience needs to be recent within the past few years, as Vision need to be able to obtain 2 professional references. ******

The role

Working as part of a dynamic, successful and positive behaviour Support team, the Behaviour Support Worker will focus on supporting individuals whilst also providing general classroom support for a class of up to 10 children.

The school

This Secondary Pupil Referral Unit is looking for a committed and successful Behaviour Support Worker to join their motivated team. This Pupil Referral unit specialise in the provision of students from the ages of 9 up to 19. This position can be extremely challenging at times and we require staff to be prepared to adapt to situations accordingly. Although this Pupil Referral Unit cater for students who have Social, Emotional and Mental health, there may be students who present other difficulties for example, Autism / ADHD. The local community is highly supportive of the school and parental involvement is very positive. 

Requirements

To be considered for the Behaviour Support Worker - Wakefield position, you will:

Have experience of working in a similar environment with similar needs in the last 2 years.. - This is essential for the Behaviour Support Worker role through Vision. 

Be experienced in working with smaller nurture groups to boost attainment.

Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.

Team teach is essential in this setting therefore if you don’t hold a certificate you must be willing to train on the course (Free of charge)

Ideally have experience delivering successful behaviour management.
