BIOLOGY LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
£10.45 per hour
Ashville Harrogate seeks to appoint an experienced Biology Laboratory Technician, to join our busy department.
This post is full time term-time only, although part time may be considered.
The successful candidate will provide general and technical assistance to the Biology Department to include servicing of four science laboratories, providing apparatus, preparation and support for the teaching of Biology to A-Level, setting out apparatus and equipment for class experiments, setting up demonstrations where possible and providing clerical assistance to the Biology Department.
Science related experience and technical expertise, including an awareness of current Health & Safety regulations is essential for this role. Knowledge of current microbiology techniques and a proven ability to work safely with microorganisms would be desirable, as would being able to work as part of a team and on own initiative and having a flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.
Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England. The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
