Job overview

The School

Schiller Gymnasium is a state grammar school situated in the centre of Berlin which provides students with a lively and challenging education in English and German. The recently renovated school complex has ample classrooms, many which have been specially refurbished for subjects such as art and science, a large school hall and landscaped school grounds. Our strong sense of community is rooted in European values, appreciation of diversity and intercultural understanding.

The school serves 870 students from year 7 to year 12.  Students can either be in the mainstream and take all their classes in German or be in the dual language State Europe School Berlin (SESB).  The school is popular and successful with a strong academic tradition stretching back over 100 years. Students in SESB are taught half of their subjects in English by an international team of teachers at mother-tongue level. The curriculum is based on the Berlin system but also incorporates aspects of curricula from English speaking countries. Students complete their school education with the Abitur at the end of year 12. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities in English and German and work closely with many institutions outside the school.
