We are seeking to appoint temporary boarding and classroom assistants or TAs - one ideally with a specialism in Art - for the 2023-24 Japanese academic year (April to March) although employment could start or finish earlier depending on candidate availability.

Jinseki provides a bilingual environment by teaching in Japanese and English although one of the assistants’ principal roles will be to add to the use of English around campus and between the school’s Japanese pupils. Duties will be wide ranging and may include:

  • Art Classroom teaching (one post) or teaching assistant as required

  • Assisting in School weekend activities

  • Supervising pupils during breaks and “free time” on campus

The precise number of and type of activities will be fixed depending on the appointed candidate’s skills and background and the standard working week. The posts are residential.

The posts are open to students who have completed a university course and who are considering a career in education or students between secondary school and university. The Art post would ideally suit a recently qualified art graduate looking to take a break after his/her studies.

Jinseki will provide:

  • A monthly living allowance which will more than cover expenses. This will be discussed during interview and fixed according to the candidate's experience and background.
  • Economy air travel to and from Jinseki at the beginning and end of contract.
