Are you an experienced Brick worker or Brickwork Lecturer looking for a new challenge?   

Do you enjoy passing on your knowledge and experience to the next generation of students?

Wigan & Leigh College is seeking a highly competent and knowledgeable Lecturer to join our Centre of Excellence at our Pagefield site to help us deliver outstanding teaching and learning on our Brickwork courses.   

We are looking for candidates who have had experience in working within an industrial setting and have experience in brickwork.  

Ideally the candidate will be qualified to Level 3 and we are also interested in hearing from applicants who gained outstanding or who hold an equivalent qualification.  

The successful Lecturer will be capable of sharing their knowledge with our students in an engaging and informative manner that demonstrates their passion for the subject.   

Teaching experience is desirable, but we are looking for someone with the confidence to share their experience and knowledge with our students - we would provide support for gaining a formal teaching qualification alongside your work with us.   

The College reserves the right to interview for this post should we receive suitable candidates prior to the closing date.    

To comply with legislation, you are required to obtain a DBS check for your role. We will be asking Protocol National Ltd/Esafeguarding Ltd to undertake this process on our behalf.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
