An exciting opportunity has arisen for BTEC Engineering Programme Leader to drive our continued success in providing a high-quality teaching and learning experience and the Trust’s passion for ensuring learner success. 

We are looking for an ambitious specialist teacher with successful experience in teaching Engineering, applied Mathematics/Science or Design Technology. 

We have increasing numbers of learners studying Engineering at KS5 as well as Graphics and Product Design across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Large numbers of Wootton Academy Trust learners progress to university and into apprenticeships to continue studying Engineering and Design Technology related subjects.

Wootton Academy Trust’s Mathematics & Engineering Department as well as our Design Technology Department have fantastic resources including a range of Design Technology specialist workshops at Wootton Upper School and state of the art facilities at Kimberley College, a specialist STEM institution.

This post is likely to appeal to an experienced and committed teacher who is able to share their enthusiasm with learners and staff to deliver a cohesive BTEC Engineering Programme.

Wootton Academy Trust  is a multi-academy trust made up of two academies:

Kimberley 16 - 19 STEM College - opened as a 16 - 19 Academy in 2013, specialising in Science and Mathematics. The College has over 650 students, over thirty different Level 3 courses and is the largest sixth form provider in Bedfordshire. It has featured regularly in the Sunday Times list of top performing sixth form colleges; The College is expected to continue growing with an anticipated 750 learners being on roll in September 2024.

Wootton Upper School is a 900-pupil academy with three-year groups [Years 9 -11]; it enjoys a reputation for excellence in the core and in the arts; it offers learners a liberal curriculum with a high degree of individual choice for learners to specialize in Key Stage 4 as well as a very diverse array of trips and visits.

The School and the College are both located in Bedford Borough; Kimberley is in the village of Stewartby, three miles from Wootton. Both are rated good by Ofsted.
