The Governors of Bute House are seeking to appoint a Bursar with vision, empathy, and integrity who will work with all members of the school community in its continued development. The Bursar will manage the school’s finances to ensure it operates in an efficient cost-effective way, providing value for money and maintaining Bute House’s long term financial and operational stability. The Bursar plays a lead role in all non-academic aspects of Bute House, serving as a key member of the SLT and line-managing the support staff team that encompasses administration, HR, facilities, and ICT functions.
The successful candidate will have strong financial acumen, proven managerial capabilities, sound judgement, and excellent communication skills. He/she will have significant previous experience in financial management, including end-of-year accounts and external liaison with auditors. He/she will be a strategic thinker, familiar with business priorities in the education sector, and adept at balancing competing priorities. A professional qualification in finance is desirable.
