Competitive Salary c.£40,000 plus results-based bonus

The Moor House Research and Training Institute (MHRTI) is at the forefront of global research and training in the field of DLD and related disabilities. 

MHRTI has developed certified training courses for Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and those working in the education sector based on its highly respected and peer-reviewed research. It also sells resources for professionals working with children with language disorders to improve their language (through the SHAPE CODINGTM system) and life skills (through the WHEEL OF INDEPENDENCE™ framework). 

MHRTI is recruiting an experienced Business and Project Development Manager to develop a strategy to increase our commercial activities and to help a far broader audience benefit from the proven therapies, tools and techniques used at Moor House with such successful outcomes.  

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the commercial activities of MHRTI including sales strategy and implementation;
  • Identify new project potential and related sales opportunities;
  • Drive sales and work with our in-house marketing resource to drive marketing activities to realise MHRTI commercial goals;
  • Build and leverage a strong network of potential educational and wider SEN sector relationships to identify, cultivate and close product sales opportunities; 
  • Work with the MHRTI team to evolve the current commercial offering as well as understand and identify school, college and academies’ needs, to shape and define future product opportunities.

Developing the commercial side of MHRTI, the ideal candidate will have experience in the wider education sector, in business development, customer relationships and project management.  Specific knowledge and experience of the SEN sector would be an advantage.

Building and maintaining relationships will be one of your core skills and you will share our ambition to make a real difference to the lives of children with Special Educational Needs. 

The position offers generous family friendly holiday provision including the option for term-time only working.  A stakeholder pension scheme is available with staff contributions matched by Moor House up to a generous capped limit.
