Job overview

Coming soon to Macclesfield College and the North West, an exciting, innovative and revolutionary 'Hospitality & Catering Apprenticeship' concept with 'high quality businesses', which will also offer cutting edge 'Master Chef' industry-training programmes informed by the latest sector needs.

Endorsed by both educationalists and industry specialists, Macclesfield College is privileged to have as the figurehead of its exciting new 'Whites Academy' the renowned Chef Aiden Byrne, who at the age of 22 years secured his first Michelin star, becoming the UK's youngest holder at the time. Today, Aiden has just been appointed as the executive chef at Manchester's hottest new restaurant '20 stories' in Spinningfields.

In preparation for the 'Whites Academy' launch, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an entrepreneurial part-time Business Development Chef on an initial 1 year 0.5 fractional contract. This will be a pivotal role with Aiden's direction and support, to shape and inform as a 'centre of excellence' the new 'Whites Academy' brand, both locally and ultimately nationally.

As a charismatic, 'Whites Academy' ambassador, you will have your 'finger on the pulse', and be capable of liaising with local schools and high quality businesses to grow the esteemed Academy, through securing 'prestigious apprenticeships' for 'high quality learners' to progress onto; whilst also developing a wealth of industry connections to help establish a successful commercial enterprise and further promote the 'Whites ethos'.

Ideally, IQA qualified or equivalent you will also have a good understanding of funding streams, particularly the Adult Education Budget and understand the importance of developing income streams to meet the College's financial allocations.

Whilst, not a requirement for you to hold a teaching qualification, an essential component will be the need for you to have a thorough understanding of the most appropriate hospitality and catering qualifications to complement the individual and the sector's needs.

Ultimately, here at the 'Whites Academy' we are looking for someone with a passion for food, cooking and hospitality who can drive this passion forward to create the next generation of 'top chefs' and 'hospitality specialists'.

Closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday 9th July 2018.

Interviews will be held in the College on Monday 16th July 2018

Please send completed application forms to recruitment@macclesfield.ac.uk

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and satisfactory references. The College is committed to equality of opportunity.
