Business Development Manager

Fashion and Retail Awards

Permanent, Full-Time

West End, London

Up to £45,000 per annum (inclusive of performance related bonuses), subject to qualifications and experience

Fashion & Retail Awards is a new organisation created to provide trusted assessment services to the retail industry. As an independent offshoot of the Fashion Retail Academy, we have educational excellence and industry responsiveness at our core.

We have launched an End-Point Assessment offer; this service will be extended over time, as directed by our partners in industry and our independent board. All proceeds from our services are re-invested into the Fashion Retail Academy charity, which aims at inspiring and developing the next generation of talent.

We have a new exciting opportunity for a dynamic and positive individual to join our dedicated Fashion & Retail Awards team as a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will lead on all market engagement activities for Fashion & Retail Awards. They will act as the first point of contact, helping them to understand what we bring and why they should work with us, guiding them through the on-boarding process where business is won.

This will require working across two distinct markets: retail employers with established or emerging apprenticeship programmes and the training providers delivering them. The ideal candidate will have suitable experience and the ability to empathise and sell services solutions into both.

The post holder will be expected to source leads and sell directly, as well as co-create and effectively disseminate compelling marketing collateral through a variety of channels. They will be persistent, results driven and resilient, able to adapt a positive ‘not if but when’ attitude to engagement.

This is a rare opportunity for someone to lead the sale of a high-quality and commercially competitive service offer, underpinned by a social mission of direct relevance to potential customers. The successful candidate will have a proven talent for direct sales and the ability to add value to passive marketing channels. In return for high expectations for results, the candidate will be rewarded for impact and be able to gain broader commercial experience in a supportive environment.

The role is amenable to home working, with occasional requirement for nationwide travel. We are open to fractional work and other flexible models for the right candidate.

If you are interested in joining a dynamic and expanding environment to further develop your career, then we would love to hear from you!
