Job overview

We are seeking a skilled, pro-active and committed individual to provide high level support to central business processes and services.

This is a varied role which will include administrative and management support for a broad range of areas. You will be expected to take lead responsibility for a number of key processes, including:

  • Marketing and co-ordination of community activities (e.g. lettings and lifelong-learning)
  • Management and administration of student bursaries and fees
  • Recording and monitoring of educational visits processes.

Part of the role is also to provide support to the Business Manager and your Line manager which will give you the opportunity to be involved in a range of project work. For example, current priorities include increasing income to the College through promoting the hiring out of our facilities to the wider community and through increasing staff and student usage of our in-house cafeteria and shop.

To balance these varied and challenging responsibilities you will need excellent organisational and prioritisation skills along with a flexible, pro-active and customer-focussed approach. You will have advanced all-round IT skills and be capable of picking up systems quickly and developing new systems. The ability to communicate well with a wide variety of people, in person and in writing, is important. Previous experience of producing marketing material would be an advantage and attention to detail is essential. For the student finance tasks you will need to be confident and accurate in working with figures and data, however the role is an administrative and co-ordinating one rather than an accounting role.

There is a high level of responsibility in this post and although you will be well supported by your line manager and fellow colleagues, you are expected to self-manage your workload and duties. It is important that your previous experience reflects your ability to work at this level as well as demonstrating your understanding of business and administrative processes. Experience of working in the educational sector is desirable, but not essential.

The post will provide you with a great opportunity to gain experience of all aspects of the business side of an educational establishment, whilst at the same time enabling you to play an important role in supporting staff and students.

Closing Date: Midnight, Thursday 24th May 2018

Please ensure you use the Supporting Statement of the Application Form to explain how your skills, experience and attributes make you suitable for the post. Please do not include a C.V.

Interviews are provisionally arranged for week commencing 4th June 2018

If you have not heard within one month of the closing date, then please assume that you have not been successful on this occasion.
