This is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward thinking school in which careers and employability education is a key strategic priority. This post is offered as a permanent contract from the start of the Summer Term, 19th April 2021, with the option to start earlier should the successful candidate be available.
Colston’s is a thriving co-educational day school on the outskirts of Bristol, easily accessible from the motorway network and with approximately 800 students aged from 3 to 18. The Upper School occupies a glorious thirty acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of current CEIAG good practice, be proactive in keeping this knowledge up to date, highly organised and have excellent communication skills enabling them to build strong relationships with a range of people. These will including pupils, parents, teaching and support staff, as well as outside agencies. They will have an enthusiastic, innovative and dynamic approach to CEIAG and in the delivery of the careers and employability programme throughout the school.
The Careers and Employability Advisor will work with the Head of Careers and Employability, the Head of Sixth Form and the Deputy Headmaster to deliver the CEIAG strategy. They will also work closely with key stakeholders to deliver a coordinated, engaging, comprehensive, dynamic programme.
This post is offered as a part-time position, 3 days per week (22.5 hours), Wednesday to Friday. The post is for 37 weeks per year, which includes all of the school term time, INSET days and 2 weeks during school holidays. There will be a requirement to occasionally work evening events (parents’ meetings, information meetings, etc) for which time can be taken off in-lieu.
You will receive a salary of between £13,223 and £14,020 per annum, depending on experience and qualification. The salary range is based on the pay scale NJC (pt 22 to 24 pro-rata), being £27,041 to £28,672 FTE. Other benefits include a School lunch during term time, free parking on site, a defined contribution pension scheme and staff remission on school fees in accordance with the staff remission policy.
