Midsomer Norton Primary School is in the heart of the local community. The successful candidate will join a dedicated, hard-working, friendly and supportive staff team where both children and staff can thrive.

We are seeking to appoint practical and cheerful well-motivated people for the posts of Caretaker and Cleaner in Charge with a possibility of them being combined into one role. The post holder(s) will ensure our school provides a safe and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors.

The two posts are as follows:

Caretaker – 6.45 – 9.15 Monday – Friday, all year round, 12.5hrs p/w or 17.5hrs p/w with closing at the end of the day.

Cleaner in Charge – 3.00pm – 5.30pm, term time only, 12.5hrs p/w or 17.5hrs p/w with closing at the end of the day.

Closing times: 5.30pm – 6.30pm Monday - Friday (there is flexibility in these times).

Please indicate on your application if you would be interested in applying for both of these roles (30 hours per week).

Also please indicate on your application if you would be happy to work the extended hours as we require either the Caretaker or Cleaner in Charge to close the school each day between 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm.

Caretaker:

We have a current vacancy for a practical and cheerful, well-motivated Caretaker. The Caretaker will be the Site Manager who will ensure the school provides a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will join a dedicated, hard-working, friendly and supportive school team where both children and staff can thrive.

Experience of working in a similar environment is desirable but not essential but the candidate must be able to use a ladder and tools as part of their role. The post also requires some independence and ability to use your own initiative.

Cleaner in Charge:

We have a vacancy for an experienced and cheerful, well-motivated Cleaner in Charge. The post holder will be responsible for managing the cleaning team and ensure the school provides, a safe, clean and welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will join a dedicated, hard-working, friendly and supportive staff team where both children and staff can thrive.

There is a physical aspect to this role; the candidate must be able to use cleaning equipment e.g. industrial cleaners as part of their role. Training will be provided for use of all equipment. The post also requires some independence and ability to use your own initiative.
