New College Durham Academies Trust comprises of two large Academies, Consett Academy and North Durham Academy, located some six miles apart in North West Durham. New College Durham, is our lead sponsor and both Academies are located in multi million pound new builds, offering unrivalled state of the art facilities for our students and communities in Consett and Stanley.
We require a number of 1:1 tutors (Science & Maths) for the current 21-22 academic year.
Casual 1:1 Tutors in Science/Maths
Salary: £25.69 per hour for those with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent or £15.42 per hour for non QTS
This hourly rate includes PPA allowance and holiday entitlement
The ideal candidate(s) will have the ability to teach creatively adapting to the needs of each learner and must have good core subject knowledge. You must be open minded / nonjudgmental and have the ability to build a rapport quickly in order to achieve the best results.
We would particularly welcome applications from individuals who:
• hold qualified teacher status, or are a qualified HE or FE teacher; or
• are able to demonstrate a track record of effective teaching; or
• are able to demonstrate successful impact of working with individuals to progress their
learning in science or maths; or
• have subject specific knowledge of science or maths at KS4
This role would be particularly suited to those who wish to have a degree of flexibility in their working arrangements.
