First established in 1921, the school has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation in the years since its founding, and as a result is able to boast of a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, including an indoor sports hall, numerous IT suites, a library, multiple netball and basketball courts, and even a cricket oval and nets. In keeping with these sports facilities, Marian Catholic College provides extensive opportunities for its students to take part in competitive sports including cricket, soccer and rugby league. The school follows the standard Australian National Curriculum, with a wide range of subjects available for students to study for, students work towards the Higher School Certificate in accordance with other schools in the state of New South Wales. As a Catholic school, Marian Catholic College draws a great deal of its ethos and principles from traditional Catholic teaching, and as a result works hard to ensure that the innate individual talents and aspirations of its pupils are met, and their individuality recognised, being as they were made in the eyes of God.
