The Sport and Uniformed Public Services department are looking to recruit a casual teacher to support the delivery of a range of sport, fitness and public service programmes, ideally with a sport science background and a level 3 VTCT in Massage or equivalent.
The successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, be flexible in their approach and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.
The casual teacher role involves preparation, delivery and assessment of a range of sport/fitness programmes from level 1 to level 3. The successful applicants should be excellent teachers and will have responsibility for the preparation of high quality lesson documentation and resources. They will also be expected to share best practice and resources with all staff in the department.
The successful candidate will need to work as part of the course team to monitor and track the learner journey, and to ensure appropriate support is implemented to maximise learner achievement, success and excellent outcomes for all learners.
They should have excellent communication and ICT skills, be highly organised with excellent time management skills, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. They must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
The successful applicants will have a related degree/vocational qualification in the curriculum area and should have relevant vocational experience in the field.
As this post is casual, teachers may be required to work in the department at short notice.
