Job overview

We are looking to recruit a strong Changing Behaviours Manager within our inclusion Link provision to ensure that all students who access this provision are provided with relevant curriculum work and are fully supported in their learning.

This new role will be predominantly based in our Link provision which provides a supported curricular provision for students who have difficulties maintaining the expected standard of behaviour within mainstream provision. It will be part of the ‘changing behaviours’ team (a subsidiary provision of the Inclusion Team) who provide a “wrap-around” package for each student. Individual Learning Packages include specific interventions or alternative provisions alongside a core academic curriculum and have a focus on developing skills which will support the learner back into their mainstream provision. Please see the job description and person specification for further information.

Barnsley Academy is a rapidly improving school, the successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time in our development following our Progress 8 score which showed the Academy as the most improved in Barnsley. The department is ambitious and we know that we have the skills, drive and support to provide an outstanding learning experience for our students. The department is currently progressing from strength to strength and we are confident that outcomes will improve again this year.

Barnsley Academy is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. By collecting expertise and combining resources, we help to make the tough job of teaching a little easier. With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve. Our intranet site, United Hub, is just one example of how we share this resource and communicate across sites, helping to simplify processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance. We reward our staff: with wide career opportunities – between Primary and Secondary, Academy and Independent – better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping every child at each of our schools to succeed and reach their full potential.

Applicants are encouraged to visit to the academy before applying, please contact Karen Jones, PA on 01226 574116 or karen.jones@barnsley-academy.org to arrange a visit.

Barnsley Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.

“We pledge that each of our students will receive personalised support to ensure that each one of them is able to make the progress that they are capable of with no excuses at any level”
