CHEF

Term Time plus 2 weeks

Effective 3rd September 2018

Applications are invited for the post of Chef at The Royal Masonic School for Girls, working 40 hours per week, on a 42 week contract.

We are looking for a creative and effective Chef who is able to work alongside our in-house team which caters for up to 1100 lunches daily, plus our boarding community at evenings and weekends. Potential candidates must have a genuine passion for their role and be able to further improve our high quality catering offering, reflecting seasonal and market trends.

Whilst the core business is Monday to Friday, boarding provision does of course include evenings and weekends, with additional hospitality required to support various school activities including parents’ events, Open Day, Sports Day, staff meetings and private dinners. The post will therefore include occasional weekend and evening work to facilitate the smooth-running of the department.

RMS is an independent, day and boarding school with a supportive and nurturing ethos. The School provides an exceptionally favourable working environment, with keen students and stunning surroundings. Potential candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the school website www.rmsforgirls.org.uk for more information about our thriving school, with its excellent value added results and inclusive community spirit that encourages both girls and staff to share a commitment to continued personal, professional and academic development.

We welcome a letter of application and a completed application form which can be downloaded from our website. Completed applications only and any enquiries should be addressed to Miss Tyler Lawton on 01923 725762 or tlawton@royalmasonic.herts.sch.uk

Please note CVs are not accepted.

Values and vision

The Royal Masonic School sets very high standards for the academic progress of its pupils. It offers an engaging and vibrant curriculum, with a number of modern teaching facilities to help its pupils reach their full potential.

Aside from academic success, the school also highly values emotional and social intelligence, with girls being encouraged to steer their own learning and become independent and self-motivated.

ISI report

“Sharply focused assessments by experienced staff ensure that the next steps are suitably challenging for every child. A careful balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities enables most children to reach or exceed their expected levels in the seven areas of learning. Daily opportunities for outdoor learning in all of these areas are limited in the classes without immediate access to outside facilities.”
