The successful applicant will:

 

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking a teacher of Chemistry and Science to fulfill a fixed term contract for Semester One 2020. The ability to also teach RE will be highly regarded. There is also the possibility of a Middle Leadership position for the duration of this contract. Please express your interest in this if you wish to be considered. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to the education of young women and the Co-Curricular life of the College. Must have an ability to attend to detail in innovative and creative practices, possess a clear understanding of the new Australian Curriculum and work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers.

St John Fisher College is a Catholic secondary college in the Mercy tradition offering a contemporary education for young women. Administered by Brisbane Catholic Education the College has an expected enrolment of 550 students in 2020. With an emphasis on 21stC learning, the College offers an academically challenging curriculum and a diverse range of pathways, with an emphasis on building resilience. With a holistic approach to education, it is a vibrant community where students are strongly encouraged to become fully involved in College life and therefore offers a wide range of co-curricular activities, all complemented by a strong pastoral care program. The College is situated on 15 hectares of land with multiple sporting ovals and modern facilities.

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
