The Latymer School is a high achieving, but caring grammar school in North London. Visitors comment on the warm atmosphere and the level of participation in extra-curricular activities. Pupils at the school recently described the school as one “family” and a “real community”. We are very proud of our school and believe it is a place where you can really teach and develop.
We are seeking to appoint, commencing Summer Term 2021, a full time Chemistry Teacher who would enjoy working with highly motivated, intellectually curious students at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The Chemistry Department has both experienced and newly qualified members of staff all who are able to offer the support required for any teacher, including a newly qualified teacher, who is eager to contribute and make a difference to students that are conscientious and enthusiastic.
The Science Department, as a whole, works as a close-knit group, sharing resources and strategies across the year groups taught at the school. As you would expect, Chemistry is a popular option at GCSE and A Level.
The department’s exam results in 2019 were outstanding at both GCSE and at A level. At GCSE, 87% of students achieved grades 7-9, with 40% achieving grade 9 and 70% grades 9/8. At A level, 11% of students achieved an A*, 46% A*/A and 67% A*/B.
If you would like to work in a friendly environment, with guaranteed A-level teaching, then we would like to hear from you.
Closing date for application: 10am on Monday, 18th January 2020
The Latymer School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory ‘Enhanced with a Barred List Check’ through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
