Context:

Camden’s Primary Reintegration Satellite is a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who have struggled to succeed in mainstream school because of social, emotional and mental health needs. Children attending the Satellite are either in the process of transitioning out of alternative provision or are on short-term placements from their current mainstream school. The purpose of the Satellite is to provide intensive support to meet the social, emotional, mental health and academic needs of vulnerable children, so that they are able to re-engage in learning and cope with the demands of a mainstream setting. We aim to provide a stimulating and secure learning environment for pupils and to give each pupil a positive experience of school.  

Role:

We are seeking an experienced practitioner to work as part of this dynamic and pioneering team. Within this key role you will support children who attend the Satellite in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Under the direction of the Teacher in Charge, you will use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support children’s learning and behaviour. You will facilitate the re-integration of children by working with mainstream school staff.

 Key Requirements
 · Working knowledge of National Curriculum / Foundation Stage curriculum

· Understanding of child development, particularly of children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties

· Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 

· Experience of working with or caring for children of primary school age

· Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs

· Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

· Ability to make effective use of technology to support learning

· Ability to build positive relationships with children

· Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Also desirable:

· Team Teach training

· First Aid training
