Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School is a successful, oversubscribed school with 1859 students on roll including 344 in the Sixth Form. It is situated close to the centres of Sheffield and Chesterfield on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The governors are seeking to appoint a Children and Family Resource Worker to work as an integral member of the student progress and welfare team to replace a retiring colleague.
The ideal candidate must be driven to improve the life chances of children and their families.
The ability to communicate effectively is essential as the candidate will be required to liaise with staff at all levels, as well as parents, carers, students, colleagues and outside agencies. Previous experience of working in a school environment or with secondary aged young people is essential. As the role will involve visits to family homes and transport of students, a clean driving licence is essential.
