This is an exciting opportunity to join the staff team at Glaitness School. Glaitness School is a mainstream primary with additional resourcing to support pupils with a wide variety of learning needs. We require an enthusiastic and independent person who would enjoy being part of an inclusive, whole-school team. Within the additional support needs provision, we provide significant and creative adaptation to the curriculum and learning experiences for children and young people who have moderate to severe, complex needs. Our children and young people are also very well supported by experienced and dedicated Support for Learning Assistants.
This post involves working as part of a team within additional support needs classes. The learning environment is play-based and multi-sensory. A very child-centred approach is used to meet the individual needs of the pupils. Some of our learning experiences for children take place out with the school environment in the wider community. The post-holder will be involved in meeting health care as well as education needs. Supporting close partnerships, working with parents/carers and other key partners is essential to the role.
