Job overview

Empowering to Excel by Learning Together

We are now seeking a suitably qualified teacher to join us at a very exciting stage of development for the school. Maths is a popular subject at ICHS with over 100 candidates studying it at A-Level every year. There will also be the opportunity to deliver A-Level Further Maths for an appropriately skilled candidate.

This post would suit an experienced teacher but applications are equally welcome from Newly Qualified Teachers. The ability to teach the subject to very able A-Level classes is essential, as is a commitment to supporting extracurricular work within the Maths department. Applications by staff seeking a part-time contract will be considered and viewing the school is recommended to all applicants. Immediate or January 2020 start.

Please click the 'Apply Now' button below to submit your application today.

Closing date: 4.00pm on Friday 18th October 2019

You will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We reserve the right to interview and appoint a suitably qualified candidate prior to the closing date.

Values and vision

Ilford County High School wants all pupils to grow into happy, well-balanced young men during their time in secondary school and sixth form. Students are encouraged and nurtured to develop a wide range of skills and interests, alongside their academic capabilities. Strong emphasis is placed on citizenship and boys are supported to become actively involved in the wider community in Ilford.

Ofsted report

“Pupils are set aspirational academic targets by leaders and have high expectations of  themselves. Staff also encourage pupils to look after their physical and mental  health. Pupils said that their teachers talk about mental well-being all the time. If  pupils have a concern about anything, they can speak to a teacher. Pupils access  extra support if they need it."
