St. James Catholic Learning Community Banora Point is seeking an innovative, energetic educator with a commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic Education and student-centred learning.

St. James School will have 375 students in 2020 who are educated by dedicated teachers and caring parents in a co-responsible manner. Banora Point is situated in Tweed Heads.


Applications are sought from suitably qualified persons for the following position:

PERMANENT Full-Time Teacher Position commencing Term 1, 2020.


Role expectations:

As a member of the school this position requires teachers to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with a commitment to teamwork and to fostering a contemporary approach to learning.

About St James’ Primary School BANORA POINT

St James Primary School is a mixed, non-selective, Roman Catholic, independent primary school in New South Wales, serving students from the age of 4-11. The primary school is situated in Banora Point. 

St James Primary School was opened in 1993. The school works to support the members of the parish community in providing a faith-filled education for their children. The school is proud of its achievements and in its latest Annual Report, listed a number of highlights, which included pupils participation in sports carnivals and competitions. All pupils are encouraged to get involved in professional learning activities throughout the year to help enhance and develop their professional skills while at the same time benefiting the quality of the students learning.

St James Primary School offers large, modern teaching classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, sports courts and grounds, a vegetable garden, well-stocked library and state-of-the-art technology devices, including iPads. 

Curriculum 

St James Primary School offers a broad and balanced learning curriculum to encourage all students to reach their full potential during their time in primary education. The school boasts the use of digital devices in its learning programme, which include iPads, Chrome Books and laptops. A wide range of extra-curricular activities and excursions are also available for pupils to take part in to expand their skills, experiences and knowledge outside of the classroom. These include sports clubs and music lessons.
