Classroom Teacher within ASD Specialist Provision

We are looking for a talented, hard-working and motivated individual to join us as a teacher within our ASD specialist provision (The Marion Centre).
The Bishop of Llandaff is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school serving the Christian and non-Christian communities within the city and surrounding areas including The Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Bridgend. Standards of achievement at all levels are exceptionally high, with outcomes consistently performing amongst the best schools in Wales and rest of the UK. However, the school is more than just about examination outcomes. Our students take part in a broad range of activities that help them become "well-rounded" and our strong Christian ethos helps shape our students to become positive role models in our society. It genuinely is a happy place to learn and work! We want every student to have the best start in life by providing them with an outstanding education! We seek to ensure each student in our care achieves their full potential academically; develops the skills necessary to be successful in our ever-changing world; and understands a sense of morality guided by the gospel values of love, acceptance, responsibility and forgiveness. These aims are delivered through a commitment to providing high quality learning experiences, a strong pastoral system and an extensive range of sporting, cultural, physical and extra-curricular activities.
About the role
The Marion Centre is a specialist resource base, which supports students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The centre was set up in 2009 and moved to a £5m purpose built building in 2013. We have an excellent team of teaching and support staff who provide all students with a very high quality of education. At present there are approximately 55 students within the centre. Nearly all students are taught exclusively by centre staff. Upon transfer to secondary school, many students are functioning at P scale levels within National curriculum. Therefore, these students receive a specialist curriculum in place to support their individual needs and pathway. The successful post holder will be responsible for an individual class and address the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning. The post would suit an individual with experience of working with students with additional learning needs in either a primary or secondary setting. All new members of staff receive a very strong programme of induction, which includes an allocated member of staff to support with the operational elements of joining a new school, as well as a tailored support package to meet individual needs.
Closing date for applications: 4th March at 12 noon.
