The Governors of Christ’s school wish to appoint a highly organised and self-motivated Clerk to join this Good (OFSTED 2016) School. The Clerk is accountable to the Governing body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, other governors, the Head Teacher and senior staff. 

This is a part time, flexible role, requiring approximately 610 hours per year and will include the equivalent of two working days (14 hours) per week (39 weeks) at the school as well as attendance at, and administration of, all governing body meetings (approximately 24 per year) which take place during the evenings in term time. The Clerk is also expected to attend all relevant training and briefings run through the school, the local authority or other appropriate provider.

The Clerk to the governors will ensure the smooth running of the governing body aiding and guiding them as required to fulfil all their statutory duties. It will include preparing and distributing all agendas and meeting papers, taking and distributing minutes in a timely way providing administrative support to the Governing body, keeping records and up-to-date information and reviews on all policies for which the governors are responsible and providing procedural and legislative advice. The person appointed will have excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills.
