Greenshaw Learning Trust is looking to recruit an experienced Clerk to the Board/Head of Clerking who will, in liaison with and taking guidance from the Chair of the Board of Trustees and the Director of Resources, provide governance support and advice to the Board of Trustees and manage the Greenshaw Learning Trust clerking service, to ensure that the Trust Board, its committees and local governing bodies operate efficiently and effectively and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Trust.

Purpose of the role:

To advise the Trust on governance and procedural matters and ensure it operates in accordance with legal requirements and the policies and procedures of the Trust. To develop coordinate, supervise and manage committee/local clerks and to manage and supervise the provision of clerking of services to schools outside the Trust who purchase that service.

Line managed by:

Director of Resources

Working hours:

36 hours per week. Full time, all year round with flexibility around school holiday working.

Key purposes of the role:

  1. To coordinate, supervise and manage local/committee clerks to ensure that committees and local governing bodies receive efficient and effective clerking support.
  2. Advise the Board of Trustees on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, and ensure it operates in accordance with legal requirements and the policies and procedures of the Greenshaw Learning Trust.
  3. To undertake the formal duties of Company Secretary; including maintaining the Trust’s statutory registers and records, and filing annual returns and other documents and information at Companies House.

Salary calculated in line with NJC pay scales
(Salary range will be determined subject to experience and qualifications)
