CLERK TO THE TRUSTEES / COMPANY SECRETARY

 

POSITION: Clerk to the Trustees

TYPE: Support

CONTRACT: Casual employee (zero hours) – paid via a timesheet

HOURS: An average of 2 – 3 hours per week

(Mainly confined to term time)

Board meetings take place between 5pm – 7pm approx. – attendance at these meetings is essential

12 meetings per academic year

PAY: £20 per hour (including holiday pay)

START DATE: As soon as possible

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clerk to our Trustees to provide secretariat services and advice to the Board of Trustees on governance. The successful candidate will provide effective administrative support to the Board of Trustees and its committees. Experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided in addition to a half term handover from the current Clerk. An understanding of school governance is an advantage.

Chesham Grammar School is a successful and highly sought after co-educational grammar school with 1,272 students on roll (396 in the Sixth Form).

The School covers a site of about 20 acres, encompassing Chesham Leisure Centre, and is classed as ‘within an area of outstanding natural beauty’. Chesham is in the Metropolitan Line and from there, or nearby Amersham, Central London is around 35 minutes away. It has an attractive High Street with a range of retail outlets.

Chesham Grammar School’s reputation is based on the highest academic standards. Pupils thrive in the balanced co-educational atmosphere and are encouraged to accept responsibility as individuals.
